I am writing to have the following bare in order to bring more awareness to our countries roughly slavery which we all assumed was over, but still exists directly! Reading historical diary entries are important because they shit us a person-to-person manner to learn and a way of connecting to the past and knowing the things that went on during those time periods. The diaries also attend us to learn and understand that there are umpteen different perspectives and reactions to historical events. We are also able to permit a first hand pointedness of view from mortal that was actually there at the time and went through and see the actual situation. The diaries allow you to come closer to the private personal thoughts of the individual and allow you to understand their life during this time period. Although, we essential remember this is just one persons point of view. It is unfortunate but during the times of slavery the slaves were passive in their response to slavery. The reason many of the slaves were passive was due to business organization and no one to fleck to for treasureion so they were force to endure the mistreatment.
A good example of the life of a girl in slavery was the diary entries of Harriet Jacobs written by herself from 1813 1897. This diary gives us a first hand carry at how she was feeling and the terrible things she had to endure.

Harriet speaks about how her master had stormy, stately ways that made his victims tremble. He made her tremble. She felt and he also reminded her that she was his property and he would kill her if she was not dense or submissive to his abuse and treatment. She said he told her, I am his property and that she must be subject to his go forth in all things. Harriet said, Her soul revolted against the mean tyranny, but where could she turn for protection? There is no shadow of law to protect her from insult, from violence, or even from death; all these are inflicted by fiends who bear the shape of men.
